Pets
How pets work, how to get them, and the full pet list with prices.
Pets change how a level plays. You equip one pet at a time, and it works for the whole level.
Two kinds of pet
- Passive pets work all the time with no button. Examples: Rumble, Lure, Bones, Flash, Zap.
- Ability pets have a button (or Space on PC) with a cooldown and a limited number of uses per game. Examples: Chubby, Frost, Echo, Guard, Purify, Vortex.
Cooldowns pause while the game is paused. Both cooldown and use count reset at the start of each game. Every Adventure level allows pets. When an ability pet affects slimes, a beam is drawn from the pet to each slime it hits.
Getting pets
- Starter pet: Chubby is free.
- Level rewards: some pets unlock when you reach an Adventure level. If you have no pet equipped, the newest one you earn is equipped for you.
- Store: the rest are bought with coins in the Store.
Equip and unequip pets from the pet’s details panel in your inventory.

Companions and upgrades
The older companion system (such as Maximus) and pet upgrades were removed in 2.0. Pets stay, and they will keep improving in small patches. See What’s new in 2.0.
