Surf Mode
Slimes slide across the screen instead of appearing in place.
Surf Mode is a special kind of level inside Adventure Mode. It plays like any Adventure level (timer, target score, pets) with one big difference.
What is different
- Slimes enter from the right edge and slide left, each at a random height with a gentle wave motion.
- Slimes never expire. Instead, a good slime that leaves the left edge is a miss: it costs 3 seconds and breaks your combo. Bad slimes can leave safely.
- Slimes speed up as time runs out, by up to 35%.
- Surf levels have their own ocean backdrop.
- Each level has its own base speed, and speed also scales with your screen width so it feels the same on every device.
Surf levels
Levels 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45 and 50. See All levels for each level’s target and speed.
Tips
- Aim ahead of the slime, not at it.
- Guard blocks the 3-second miss penalty. Chubby makes targets bigger. Lure helps with wave motion.
- Bones does nothing here, since slimes never time out.
- See Surf strategy.
History
Surf Mode was redesigned in 2.0. Slimes now move like a real wave, with rotation, and speed up as the time left goes down. A mismatch between the Surf background and its button icon is also fixed. See What’s new in 2.0. Stability was improved in v1.1.5.
